Self-destruction is a SIN!

...and self pity is a SIN too!

Now, what does that mean?

When things don't go your way for reasons BEYOND your control how do you react? With DENIAL or you PITY yourself. Both of these can kill YOUR "SELF"!

Both of these make you not live YOUR LIFE! In either case, your thoughts (mostly from the past and expectation of future) drive your life instead of YOU (the higher self) driving your own life!

When you let these thoughts (pasts or expectations) drive YOU, it will drive you and it will drive you CRAZY! In the process, you will DESTROY YOUR "SELF".

What will help is to deeply accept the fact and don't become victim to the problem. So, it is important NOT to identify YOURSELF with the thoughts and feelings of "How can this happen to me", "I am destined for this", "I pity myself", "I failed", "I hate it", "every dog has its day", "let me teach a lesson" etc

There are so MANY wonderful things in LIFE that you have been blessed with and before it is too late (instead of realizing it on your death bed), ENJOY them NOW!

Keep an OPEN mind and let your HIGHER SELF drive you to BLISS!

Great things can happen to you, when your HIGHER SELF is guiding YOU!

4 Stages to reach Nirvana!

I read in one of the books that there are essentially four significant stages in a relationship and each of these stages conclude with a ring (signifying the universal shape i.e a circle or a ring)

Engagement Ring
Wedding Ring
SuffeRing
EnduRing!

....and I think that after you go through these stages you will attain Nirvana

P.S: The last ring is the hardest and you orbit around this ring in DENIAL :-) :-))

DENIAL!

How can this happen to me?
Why did it happen to me?
Where did it go wrong?
When did it go wrong?

How can she not trust me?

Wasn't i good to her?
Didn't i take care of her?
Didn't i listen to her?
Didn't i love her?

No, that can't be true
No, she will realize it
No, give it some time
No, give her some space

I know what it is
yes, i do
it is just a passing phase
yet it is,

i know her well
yes i do,
give it more time
yes i will,
she will come back,
yes she will...

Eradicate Terrorism - Drop prejudice & Bailout terrorists!

Eradication of terrorism needs radically different thinking. Let us face it, we have tried our muscle power on various occasions and have miserably failed!

We have spent billions of tax dollars on war and bailing out companies. How has this changed our lives? We are preaching love and peace to others while encouraging violence.

Don't you think we can still live without bailing out some of these financial institutions?

Can we not spend the same amount of money in funding and building a new city (possibly an island) with self-sustained economy and dump terrorists there? Don't give them weapons, give them love. Create an infrastructure for their children, build mosques for them, create jobs and let them feel safe! Well, don't compare this with Iraq invasion, we didn't create anything there, we simply destroyed them...

It is time to bail out the terrorists and spread love and recognize their religious beliefs globally and drop our prejudice!

But wait, where is that island? Well, before we find one, do we fundamentally agree?

High confidence does NOT mean high self esteem!

A person who seem to be very high on confidence MAY have a low self esteem. On the other hand, person with high self esteem may not ooze with confidence. Self esteem is internal and confidence is just external.

One can show-off very high confidence while he/she internally fears terribly even about trivial matters. On the other hand, the person with high self esteem MAY NOT necessarily appear confident because of various reasons. However, I do believe that the self esteem ultimately prevails and the person indeed becomes extremely confident as maturity dawns.

It is hard to detect people with lower self esteem as it is disguised as they may appear very intelligent and confident and they don't speak their mind out.

The person with high self esteem typically has high integrity, does not fear laughing at oneself (or calling oneself a fool) in front of others.

The people with low self esteem may lack passion and appear selfish mainly because they internally feel insecure. They may do drugs etc in some cases.

In the relationship context, if one of the spouses has a low self-esteem and it is not detected by the other person in the EARLY stages, the relationship may not be fulfilling and can be really damaging. It is extremely difficult even for the person with higher self esteem to adjust because there is a tendency for him/her to drag (literally) the other person along into his/her passionate world and aspire to reach the sky while the person with low esteem silently cries for approval/acceptance on trivial matters ("trivial" is as perceived by the person with high self-esteem).

IF relationship is important, the person with high self-esteem must detect this and "deeply accept" the other person "as is" and build the self-esteem by operating from the heart (keeping the "mind" aside) and praising/approving/accepting any and every trivial success. For ones own gratification, the person with high self-esteem must be independent in his/her endeavors (without expecting the spouse to support every step of the way) so that the passion in him/her is alive.

PREJUDICE and strained relationships!

I think prejudice is the main cause for strained relationships.

Everyone has all types of prejudice about anything and everything.

The definition:
- An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts
- A preconceived preference or idea

Most of the times prejudice is taken in the context of discrimination which has its own connotation.

The conditioning of our minds is largely based on our childhood and this makes us form opinions on others with lot of prejudice especially when the people are slightly different from what we are used to seeing. This applies to everyone including our own spouses.

Prejudice stops us from accepting the other person the way they are and results in endless arguments on likes and dislikes and causes strained relationship.
